Lord Jesus, please give us the ears to hear this wonderful message of hope.

Happy Mother's Day, dear Heartdwellers! Some of you will say to me, "But I'm not a mother." But I say, you are a mother of souls whenever you reach out in the Name above all Names, to minister in kindness to one who is hurting.

I want to thank you for your patience as you have been waiting for a message in the midst of all this music. The Lord has given us all a message in this. As He promised, we would flourish in our gifts if we persevered - and you are seeing His promises come true in my life. And I'm not one iota more than you in God's eyes. In fact, I can guarantee that you are greater in His eyes than I am. Not that we should run around making comparisons. No, that's not a Godly attitude. But I say this, so you will know - wherever your gift is now, it can grow and blossom if only you will persevere in faith.

Forgive me for sharing extremely simple music with you. But He is taking me back to the beginning and telling me I try too hard and get too caught up, which makes it impossible for me to get anything done for you; and also gets me snagged to the point where I don't complete a song.

What He has been doing with me is sitting me down at the keyboard and moving my fingers with barely another thought in my mind than that very simple act. And out of that He is bringing forth something anointed.

Years ago, I discovered this truth: to play music is to truly just play as a child would in their sand box. So, you heap up some wet sand and you put something else on top of that - and you have a sand castle. You make a sound with the instrument. If it's good you repeat it; if it's not good, you drop it. If the top of the castle looks silly - you knock it off and start again. That's so simple and so fun!!! It makes exploring sounds a true time of playfulness, and out of that, God brings His anointing. Because it's flowing from your heart!

So, any of you who suspect you are called to music, ignore all the do's and don'ts and discouragement of the world and just do it anyway!

My mother used to tell me, "Oh, that's a talent you have to begin cultivating when you're a child; so you've passed that time up in your life." She said that to me when I was 15! And here the Lord is giving me the gift at 58 and prospering it at 71.

There is such a mystique about musicians that is designed to discourage anyone from taking up an instrument when they are older. There's a good reason for this: Satan hates musicians, especially the ones who aren't actively working for him.

But getting back to music, I was given an insight into what Jesus is doing with this gift in me. He is slowing us all down, breaking us free of the fast-paced, noisy music that so clogs our receptors that we can't hear His still small voice. A lot of us keep this fast-paced music up, because we want an energy high. We don't want to get into the deep, quiet place where all our unhealed wounds are still open. When we get quiet, we get deep. And more often than not - deep hurts.

What is the answer? Continue to have fast-paced, uplifting music to cover it all over? Or seek the Lord for healing in those quiet places. I believe He has set me at ease with such simple, sparse-sounding music because He wants to prepare you all to hear His voice. It's not about my skill - which I don't have. It's about His anointing, His drawing His Beloved quietly to His side where He can embrace and heal her deepest wounds.

In order for this to take place...we need to re-tune our emotions. Our hearts and intellects to 'turtle gear', so He may enter into our woundedness and heal it.

So, that's my take on the super-simple music He's been giving me. Thanks for your encouragement, by the way.

We are all so conditioned to expect stimulation and an upbeat message that we tend to look down on the simple things. We tend to draw the line on our talents saying, "I could never do that." We tend to expect professional quality - when all the Lord wants is anointing so He can reach you, so He can receive your worship.

The music industry has made this medium into a worldly wasteland rather than a holy blessing drawing us all to God, for which it was intended and specifically created. So, please do not be intimidated by worldly standards. The Lord wants to bless His people with the anointing; that's all that matters to Him.

And again, He wants to slow us down so that the light might shine into the darkest places of our hearts where He will heal, and do away with the former things. The things that are saturated in pain and misfortune - and make us whole once again. We are in a season of blessing, dear ones! Not only prospering our gifts, but healing our wounds, which block us from using our gifts.

And some Scriptures came to mind as I was thinking this.

Daniel 2:22 "It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him."

2 Cor. 4:6 For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God's glory displayed in the face of Christ.

Ephesians 1:18

"I ask that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know the hope of His calling."

Isaiah 42:16

"I will lead the blind by a way they do not know, In paths they do not know I will guide them. I will make darkness into light before them And rugged places into plains. These are the things I will do, And I will not leave them undone."

Wow, that's really beautiful. "I will make darkness into light before them And rugged places into plains." And as I'm working to create, I see a lot of bumps in the road, a lot of places where I don't know how to handle them. And I see a lot of darkness and confusion: 'How do I do this?' or 'How do I do that?' And I see the Lord making the darkness into Light before me and showing me the way. And making the rugged places into a simple path to just move forward. So, that prophecy is being fulfilled in my life, even with this work.

All of these things He does through inner healing as we allow Him access to the hidden places in our hearts. We cover these places over, because they are not healed; they hurt and twist our lives in ways we will never be able to understand. We cannot reflect the glory of Christ that dwells within us if it is clouded over by layers of clouds of defensive behavior, hiding our failures and wounds. The knowledge of God's glory, the face of Christ, is truly seen when deep healing takes place. And for this we need to be still and quiet and allow Him access daily during our prayer times.

So many of you have said to me, "I just don't hear from the Lord." I disagree. He speaks to EVERY ONE of you, one way or another. For instance, the voice of your conscience is God's voice. Whenever you feel a check in your spirit, He IS speaking to you. The problem is not that He doesn't speak. It's that you are not fine-tuned enough to hear Him clearly. We are swimming in the muddy swamp of this world. When we finally get to the crystal-clear waters of life, then we can hear.

And for that to take place, we must stop allowing the world access to our ears and cultivate a quiet, peaceful state of mind; dwelling on Jesus and His company - which we know exists with us by faith.

Worship is one of the best ways to do this.

Contemplating one Scripture verse over and over again is another way to open those clogged spiritual ears. If you can find just one sentence or word in Scripture that touches your heart - just one - and meditate on that with some quiet music, you will find yourself drawing nearer and nearer to Him.

One of my favorites is: "Lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5

Another technique of drawing inspiration from the Scriptures is to read between the lines. You see and comprehend the words but so much more than a sentence with only one meaning is there before you. There are thoughts, emotions and connections to be made as you read. The things that are implied in the sentence are not just the obvious. When you take your time and dwell on the Scriptures, you allow them to go deep into your heart, where more is understood and read between the lines.

I'm not talking about twisting the Scriptures to fit our agenda. I'm talking about the richness of the meaning of the words, even in the context they are used. As you meditate on them, Holy Spirit enlightens the eyes of your understanding to go deeper and make connections with other Scriptures of similar kind.

Getting back to music...

Jesus began, "This gift is truly misunderstood. When you come to Heaven, you will experience the harmony of life in sound vibrations that are intertwined into a masterpiece of worship to Me. All creation sings to Me, and each expression of love and gratitude is pleasing to Me, whether it be a frog croaking or a bird singing."

And I was reminded of this Scripture in Isaiah 44:23: Shout for joy, O heavens, for the LORD has done it! Shout joyfully, you lower parts of the earth; Break forth into a shout of joy, you mountains, O forest, and every tree in it; For the LORD has redeemed Jacob And in Israel He shows forth His glory.

The Lord continues here, "Although much of these sounds are inaudible to you on Earth, they do exist and they are beautiful to Me. My People, everything you do for Me is an act of worship and brings Me joy. For this, you were created, that I might walk in the cool of the evening in the Garden in sweet communication.

"Adam was full of spontaneous worship when I brought each new creature to him for naming. He was overcome with gratitude for the wonder of each one and it's remarkably unique attributes. He had an unending dialogue with Me in his heart as he explored the wonders of the Garden, the pleasures of water, the delightful fruits I gave for him to eat fresh from the vine. The Garden, too, hummed with unspeakable gratitude as everything in it was in perfect balance and harmony, expressing gratitude for being created.

"It was when sin entered in that all of that changed. But I still longed to hear the gratitude that was once expressed over the spontaneous provision that was eternally theirs. We shall return to that state when I come to rule the Earth. There will be pockets of Eden protected from those who deliberately choose their own way over Mine.

"But all of you, from the least to the greatest, have untapped treasures of expression in your being. All of you can sing to Me from your heart; all of you can go about doing good to others, from your hearts. All of you can take delight in creating and exercising your gifts, and I share in that with you. Whether you work with teams in administration, or you are singing in a choir, or paint edifying images of Me and My creation, or work in the undiscovered realms of science. Your minds are a creative gift to you and when you use them I am glorified, especially when it is to do good.

"Perhaps you are a carpenter, taking joy in the angles and finish of the wood, and how each piece complements and fits together with the others. Perhaps you are a mechanic, wondering at the very concepts of physics that make a car run with such ingenuity. Or a baker taking delight in a perfect loaf of bread fresh from the oven.

"Then again, you may be a nurse or a doctor who continually wonders at the complexity of the body. Perhaps you drive a bus and feel good about your work when you let others go ahead of you in traffic, or when you make a precision stop to help an elderly woman aboard.

"There is room for creativity and joy in every walk of life. It is up to you to change your focus from the humdrum, mundane viewpoint of life to a fresh, new one of excitement: 'What can I do for You today, Jesus? How can I let Your face shine out of My life?'

"Do you know that your attitude in a service job can actually stop a suicide from happening? Why? Because you can make a soul feel loved when you go out of your way for them. Today may be the day they were planning to take their life, but you gave them hope that their life does matter by the simple act of going out of your way to help them. That one, little, insignificant act can change a man's destiny, simply because they recognized hope living in you.

"All of you are asking, 'What can I do?' The answer is simple: live this day as if it were your very last day on Earth to show love. My love for mankind. With this attitude of heart, you will save many souls.

"This is why the enemy tries to ruin the atmosphere at your work place. He wants a sour, dour expression on your face that will intimidate and discourage your customers. And he hits you hardest when you are closest to making a difference in someone's life.

"Keep an eye on that, My People. When you get hit with something discouraging, look around and ask yourself, 'Who is Satan trying to keep me from ministering to?' Truly I tell you, he deliberately plans these attacks to take you out of commission just when I need you the most to be fully there.

"Those who are faithful with the little opportunities will be given greater ones. Greater and greater and greater opportunities to exercise wonderful gifts on My behalf. Be faithful with the little things and I will inspire you to embrace the greater, fully clothed and equipped with My grace to not only succeed, but to excel."
